At 9:30 am on September 17, students of “Portuguese- speaking Nursing Workshop”, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the International Exchange Center of the Sichuan Provincial Health Department, visited the First People’s Hospital of Chengdu. Seventeen outstanding clinical nurses and nursing management personnel from Portuguese- speaking countries such as Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau and Sao Tome visited the hospital accompanied by staff from the International Exchange Center of the Sichuan Provincial Health Department.

Mr. Liu Yao, Vice President of Chengdu First People's Hospital, expressed his warm welcome on behalf of hospital leadership. He said that in recent years, our hospital has received many medical professionals in Portuguese- speaking countries and has deep feelings for Portuguese- speaking countries. It is hoped that there will be more cooperation and exchanges in the future to promote the development of the world's medical and health undertakings.  

Mr. Liu Yao introduced our hospital to the guests, and accompanied the guests to visit the hospital's outpatient hall, TCM Clinics, Preventive Medicine Center and operating rooms. The guests showed strong interest in the Preventive Medicine Center and asked in detail about the development of the center. Some of the guests also personally experienced massage, acupuncture, cupping and other treatments in the center.

Ms. Liu Surong, Director of the Nursing Department, introduced  nursing in our hospital and shared nursing techniques and experience with the guests.

This visit further promoted exchanges and cooperation between our hospital and the Portuguese-speaking countries and enhanced mutual friendship.
