Founded in July 1992, Chengdu First People's Hospital ICU is one of the first three independent comprehensive ICUs established in Chengdu. It is also the first ever ICU established among Chengdu City- level Hospitals. For more than 20 years, the ICU has grown from 6 beds and 14 medical staff in the beginning to 38 beds and 76 medical staff, including 22 doctors, 1 chief physician and 3 deputy chief physicians.There are 7 attending physicians and 11 residents, among whom, there are 2 doctors, 9 masters, 11 undergraduates. There are 54 nurses, 11 professors of nursing and 23 nurse- in- charge. ICU has a warm and comfortable environment and modern medical equipment. It has a professional medical team with excellent professional skills. There is a sound department organization management system with scientific and standardized procedures.

ICU has strong strength in scientific research and development. It has undertaken and participated in many scientific research projects, and has won many provincial and municipal scientific research achievements awards with dozens of publications.

ICU medical staff provides quality services to patients in the hospital and has wonmany honorary titles granted by Chengdu Health Commission.
