Founded in 1942, The Department of Ophthalmology now has 93 in-patient beds, 55 medical professionals with more than 40,000 out-patients, 4000 in-patients, and 3500 surgeries annually.

With world- class equipments and techniques, Department of Ophthalmology is capable of performing many types of ophthalmic surgeries, including surgery of glaucoma, ocular muscles and cataract with good outcomes.

Department of Ophthalmology is equipped with over 50 sets of equipment for clinical examination and treatment. Furthermore, we also pay equal attention to education and research. We have been accepting interns from four universities as a part of Sichuan Provincial residency program. There are two on- going researches, and over 30 papers have been published in recent five years.
