The Cardiovascular Department of the Chengdu First People's Hospital is a keyspecialty named by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a key specialty of the Sichuan Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration, and a key medical subject of Chengdu. It is a department integrating clinical treatment, teaching and scientific research. The discipline has unique advantages in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases by integrating Chinese and Western medicine.

There are three wards with 220 beds, CCU room, cardiac interventional catheter room,cardiac function room and research labs.

At present, the number of faculty of the department is 83, including 31 doctors,52 nurses, 8 doctors with senior titles, 16 intermediate titles, 7 junior titles,8 doctorates and 21 masters, among whom there is 1 famous Chinese medicine doctor in Sichuan Province, 2 TCM disciples, 2 TCM doctors and 2 TCM masters.

The number of inpatients has increased year by year. The effective rate ofinpatient treatment is over 98%, and the efficiency of outpatient treatment isover 95%.

The department actively carries out relevant clinical researches, actively promotes scientific research, strengthens scientific research, and encourages medical personnel at all levels to participate in scientific research projects. In thepast 10 years, a total of more than 66 publications have been published and department faculty have participated in the preparation of the “Common Handbook for Prevention and Treatment of Common Chronic Diseases in Communities” and“Geriatric Diseases”, as well as the establishment of Prevention and Rehabilitation Healthcare Center.
