Recently, “Guidelines for Clinical Treatment on Mental Retardation with TCM:” , chiefly edited by Chengdu TCM & Western Medicine Hospital(Chengdu First People’s Hospital), has been approved by China Association of Chinese Medicine and will be distributed nationally.

This program, which took three years to finish and was led by our hospital, was initiated in February 2015 by National Administration of TCM. On the basis of science- based, pragmatic, advanced and TCM- oriented philosophy, standards on clinical diagnosis, treatment and medication of Mental Retardation have been formulated, which are hoped to be national- recognized standards in the near future. The distribution of this guideline will surely promote academic and research development in MR, which will better serve patients and families around China.
